ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE PP GOVERNMENT 2010-2015
Skills Training Institutions
An unprecedented amount of Skills Training Institutions were established by our last period of governance.
Transforming Education
The UNC led the way in bringing technology to the classroom. Our plan for the children of Trinidad and Tobago was to move to e-books and increase the use of technology in schools. The laptop programme was part of this wider vision. The result of this policy would have been lighter bookbags and students who were more equipped to succeed in our increasingly digital world.
National Tennis Centre in Tacarigua
Our political party recognized the importance of promoting sports and physical activity as part of a healthy and active lifestyle. We invested in the development of modern sports facilities to provide our citizens with access to world-class sporting venues.
We built the National Aquatic Centre and Cycling Velodrome in Couva, providing state-of-the-art facilities for swimming and cycling. These facilities hosted numerous national and international sporting events, putting our region on the map as a destination for sports enthusiasts from around the world.
Aviation Campus, Couva
The Aviation Campus at Camden, a premier facility for industry-relevant aviation training using state-of-the-art learning spaces and technology. Situated on 20 acres of land in Camden, Couva and sharing space with key stakeholders in the local aviation industry, The Aviation Campus at Camden is home to the largest hangar in the English-speaking Caribbean.

Investing In Infrastructure
Our political party is committed to improving the lives of our citizens by investing in critical infrastructure projects. As part of our efforts, we have built new roads, improved existing ones, and installed better drainage systems. These projects have not only enhanced the safety and convenience of transportation for our citizens but have also provided a boost to the local economy. Investing In Safety
Our political party recognized the importance of public safety and took measures to ensure the protection of our citizens. We invested in the construction of new police stations and the enhancement of existing ones, providing our law enforcement officials with the necessary resources to effectively serve and protect our communities.
We also increased the number of police patrols in our neighborhoods to improve response times and deter criminal activity. These efforts resulted in a significant decrease in crime rates, making our communities safer for families and businesses alike.

Investing In Agricultre
As a result of our investment in agriculture, our region’s farmers saw significant improvements in their yields and profits. We are proud to have played a role in the development of our region’s agricultural sector, and we continued to support our farmers and promote sustainable agriculture practices.
Investing In Health Care
Our political party recognized the importance of providing quality healthcare to all citizens. We invested in the development of modern and state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and equipment, ensuring that our citizens had access to the latest medical technologies and treatments.
We also increased the number of healthcare professionals in our region by investing in training programs and incentives for medical students and practitioners to practice in our communities. This led to an increase in the availability of healthcare services, which improved the overall health of our citizens.
Investing In Utilities
Our political party recognized the importance of providing access to reliable and affordable utilities, including water, gas, and CNG, to our citizens. We invested in the development of modern and efficient infrastructure to deliver these services to our communities.
Our efforts included upgrading and expanding our water treatment and distribution systems, ensuring that our citizens had access to clean and safe drinking water. In addition, we encouraged the adoption of clean and renewable energy sources by investing in the development of compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling stations, making it easier for our citizens to switch to a cleaner and more sustainable source of fuel.
Investing In Education

We also expanded tertiary education, investing in the development of new universities and colleges to provide our young people with opportunities for higher education.
